Our top ladies’ team beat Hasingfield in Cambs Ladies’ Division 1 at home, winning 5 sets to 3. Vickie Nicholas and Maggie Burchett won both their matches 6-1, 6-1 and 6-1 and 6-0 while Othelia Agar Stallbom and Sally Pell lost one and halved the second 6-7, 3-6 and 2-6, 6-3.
Our men have also notched up some good performances. Cambs Men’s 1 beat Cambridge 2 at Cambridge last week and Cambs Men’s 4 beat Risbygate 27-1 in their first match. Our Cambs Men’s Division 6 team scored an easy home win against Great Shelford by 7 sets to 1. Rob Worrall and Nick Peck won their match 7-6, 6-4, while Mike Freeman and Andy Croft tied theirs 6-1, 2-6. St Neots won the other two matches on a walk-over.
Our mixed team has also been in impressive form with away wins against Needingworth ‘D’ and Thorpe Wood’C’ in the Huntingdon and Peterborough Mixed Divison 6. Against Needingworth, Vince Hainsby and Sally Pell won 3 sets out of 4, as did our other pair, Justin Leigh and Helen Bloxham. Against Thorpe Wood, Barry Holden and Sabrina Le Mottee won 2 sets out of 4 while Ben Tusting and Claire Wood 4 out of 4.
